Gary Garner

Gary Garner is the head men’s basketball coach at Southeast Missouri State University, a position he assumed in 1997. During his tenure at Southeast Missouri State, the Indians have won two conference championships. Previously, he served in the same position at Fort Hays State University (1991-1997), where he led the Tigers to an NCAA Division II national championship. Garner has also served as an assistant men’s coach at Tulsa (1988-1989), as the head men’s coach at Drake (1981-1988), and as an assistant under legendary coach Norm Stewart at Missouri (1977-1981). During his time with Stewart, the Tigers won two Big Eight titles and advanced to the NCAA tournament three times. Gary and his wife, Barbara, are parents of two sons, Matt and Jon.
