Mike Curtis
Mike Curtis is the throws coach at Verona (WI) High School. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater, where he competed in both the shot put and the discus as a member of the Warhawks’ track and field team. As a competitor, he won the conference championship twice in the discus and was a conference place winner twice in the shot put. He has been coaching for more than three decades. During that time, his teams have won the Wisconsin state championship eight times. In addition, he has coached eight USA National Champions, including his daughter, Amber, in the discus, and his son, A.J., in the shot put.
