Fran Fraschilla

Fran Fraschilla is the former head men’s basketball coach at the University of New Mexico, a position he held for three seasons, from 1999 to 2002. Fraschilla led the Lobos to post-season appearances in each of his three years at UNM. Prior to coming to New Mexico, he took teams to post-season tournaments five times in his six previous seasons as a head coach—four years at Manhattan (1992-1996) and two at St. John’s (1996-1998). Prior to accepting the job at Manhattan, he served as an assistant under Rick Barnes at Providence (1989-1992), Gary Williams at Ohio State (1987-1989), and Danny Nee and Billy Hahn at Ohio (1981-1987). A 1980 graduate of Brooklyn College, Fraschilla is widely respected for his teaching ability and his knowledge of the game.
