Dave Sollazzo

Dave Sollazzo is the defensive line coach at the University of Maryland, a position he assumed in 2001. Previously, he served as a volunteer defensive line coach for the Terps for two seasons (1986-’87), as well as a graduate assistant in 1984. Since joining the Terps’ staff in his current stint at Maryland, Sollazzo has molded his defensive linemen into one of the top defensive units in the country. Prior to that, Solazzo coached for two years at Georgia Tech (1999-2000) as a defensive tackles coach. Before joining the Yellow Jackets’ staff, he served as the defensive line coach at The Citadel, his alma mater, for ten seasons (1979- ’88). Sollazzo began his coaching career in 1978 on the interscholastic level. A 1977 graduate of The Citadel where he lettered three times for the Bulldogs as a defensive lineman, Sollazzo is widely respected as one of the top young defensive coaches in the game.
