Matt Irvin

Matt Irvin is the head football coach at Mary Institute and St. Louis County Day School (MO), a position he assumed in 2005. He was named the St. Louis Rams High School Coach of the Year in 2005 after taking his team to the state championship game in his first season as the Rams’ head coach. He has distinguished himself on the field and the sidelines playing for and coaching with four Hall of Fame football coaches, including Ron Holtman of MICDS in St. Louis and South Carolina’s John McKissick, the winningest coach in high school football history. Irvin was a highly honored player at Missouri State University, where he was captain of a team that twice made the I-AA playoffs. At MSU, Irvin was an All-Gateway Conference pick from 1990-1992, earned All-American honors, and was given the Briggs Award for Academics, Leadership and Character his senior year. Irvin started his coaching career at Kirkwood (MO) High School, where he was a position coach and assisted with offensive coordination, game strategy, planning, and scouting.
