Ron Carbone

Ron Carbone is the head football coach at Hamden Hall Country Day School in Hamden, Connecticut. Prior to accepting that position in 2007, he served 24 years as a head football coach at three Connecticut high schools: Derby, Ansonia, and Hamden. He compiled an aggregate record of 159 wins and 62 losses. Ron had 17 conference championships, an undefeated season, and two trips to the CIAC State Class LL championship game. Six of his former players went on to play professional football: five played in the NFL, and one played in Canada. Ron also worked as a college assistant at Yale University, and was the defensive coordinator at Southern Connecticut State University. He has received coach-of-the-year awards from the Gene Casey New Haven chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, the District League, and the New Haven Gridiron Club, and has also been named the Ray Tellier Coach of the Year and the Connecticut High School Coaches’ Coach of the Year. Ron received a gold ring from the New Haven Boys’ Club for outstanding service to the community, and he was inducted into the Connecticut High School Football Coaches’ Hall of Fame in November 2006. Ron resides with his wife, Rosemarie, in Hamden, Connecticut. He has five children and 10 grandchildren.
