Mike Turner

Mike Turner is the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where he has been on the staff for almost two decades. In 2003, he was honored as the NCAA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year by the AFCA. Prior to Carson-Newman, Turner was the head football coach at Science Hill (TN) High School, where his squads posted records of 8-3 and 10-3. From 1987-1991, Turner served an initial stint as the offensive coordinator at Carson-Newman, which won two national championships during this period. In 1985 and 1986, Turner accepted the position of offensive coordinator at the University of North Alabama, where he helped guide the Lions to a runner-up finish in the NCAA Division II championship game in his first season. A 1973 graduate of Carson-Newman, where he played center and was a member of the 1972 championship bowl squad, Turner is widely respected for his knowledge of the fundamentals involved in offensive line play.
