Joe Thompson
Joe Thompson is the head football coach at Oakton (VA) High School. Since assuming his present position in 2002 (after serving as an assistant on the Cougars’ staff for five seasons), Thompson has led Oakton to three consecutive playoff appearances and a 36-14 record in four years. His 2005 team won the Virginia AAA Division 6 State Championship. For his efforts, he has received numerous honors, including having been named District, Regional, and State Coach of the Year. A 1989 graduate of Clarion University, Thompson is one of the most well respected interscholastic coaches in the game.
