Mike Welch
Mike Welch is the head women’s volleyball coach at Idaho State University, a position he assumed in 2000. Prior to taking the reins of the Bengals’ program, Welch served as the head women’s coach at both North Florida and Morehead State. In his illustrious 13-year collegiate coaching career, he has led his teams to six nationally ranked seasons, five conference championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances, and one NIVC appearance. In addition, he has coached players to two All-American, 17 All-Region, and 33 All-Conference honors. He has also served as the head coach of the USA Youth National Team twice, as well as both a head and an assistant coach in the U.S. Olympic Festival. A graduate of California State University, Chico, Welch is widely respected as one of the most accomplished coaches in the sport.
