Tara VanDerveer
Tara VanDerveer is the head women’s basketball coach at Stanford University, a position she assumed in 1985. In her impressive tenure with the Cardinals, she has led Stanford to two NCAA championship titles, five NCAA Final Four appearances, 13 Pac-10 Conference titles, and 17 consecutive NCAA Tournament berths. VanDerveer has been recognized as National Coach of the Year and District Coach of the Year three times, and has also been named Pac-10 Coach of the Year seven times. A 1975 graduate of Indiana University, VanDerveer previously coached at The Ohio State University, where she led the Buckeyes to four Big Ten Championships, and to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
