Brian C. Leutholtz

Brian C. Leutholtz, Ph.D., FACSM is a professor at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Among his responsibilities at Baylor is the development of a Ph.D. program and graduate-level curriculum in sports nutrition and exercise prescription for special populations. Prior to assuming his present position, he served as the director and founder of the Old Dominion University Therapeutic Exercise Program for Chronic Disease (TEMPO) in Norfolk, VA. He also has acted as a consultant for an aggressive managed-care team; providing exercise and diet evaluation/education in Virginia Beach, VA. Prior to graduation in 1992 from Michigan State University where he earned a Ph.D., specializing in the study of clinical exercise physiology and cardiology, he completed a four-year doctoral fellowship at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Dr. Leutholtz has earned recognition at the highest level of certification offered by ACSM — Clinical Program Director.
