Tom Crean

Tom Crean is the head men’s basketball coach at Marquette University, a position he assumed in 1999. Since taking the reins at Marquette, he has helped reestablish the Golden Eagles to a position of national prominence. Before Marquette, he served as an assistant coach for four seasons at Michigan State. During that period, he helped lead the Spartans to an 88-41 record and four consecutive postseason appearances. Prior to his tenure at Michigan State, Crean was an assistant coach at Pittsburgh for one year (1994-’95). Before that, he served as the associate head coach at Western Kentucky for three seasons (1990-’94). A graduate of Central Michigan, Crean got his start in coaching at Michigan State on Jud Heathcote’s 1989-’90 staff.
