Don Hyde was a longtime La Vega (Waco, Texas) assistant who took over the head coaching job in 2018. In two years at the helm he’s compiled a 28-4 record, inclucing 2 class 6A state championships.
“Coach” Don Hyde has been in education for 26 years, 17 of which have been spent at La Vega High School where he teaches economics and government.
Coach Hyde attended Robinson ISD and Baylor University and has “roots” in Central Texas. He lives by a theory that a small man can make a huge difference and aspires to be remembered as a good son, husband, father and man.
