Gene Chizik was most recently the defensive coordinator at North Carolina from 2015-2016. He served as the head coach of the Auburn football squad from 2009-2012, including the 2010 season which saw the Tigers complete a 14-0 season with a victory over the Oregon Ducks in the BCS National Championship Game.
Chizik played college football for the University of Florida Gators. His coaching resume includes stints at Clemson, Middle Tennessee State, Stephen F. Austin State, Central Florida, and Iowa State. Following his resignation from North Carolina, Chizik has found a new passion as a studio analyst and radio host for the SEC Network.
