Scott Woodward

Scott Woodward enters his second season as an offensive quality control assistant at Pitt. Before joining the Panthers, Woodward spent four years at Massachusetts (2015-18) under Mark Whipple, now the Panthers’ offensive coordinator.

Woodward was an invaluable and versatile member of the Minutemen’s offensive staff. The tight ends coach in 2018, he also served as an offensive analyst and worked with the quarterbacks and receivers during his tenure in Amherst.

Prior to UMass, Woodward had stints at Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham (2013-15) and Westfield State (2010-13). He served in a variety of roles at FDU, including offensive coordinator, academic coordinator, travel coordinator and assistant strength and conditioning coordinator. Woodward’s positional focus was on the quarterbacks and he handled in-game play calling for the Devils. At Westfield State, Woodward was an offensive graduate assistant working with the quarterbacks and skill positions. He additionally was a fundraising coordinator and managed home game event operations.

A former collegiate quarterback himself, Woodward was a four-year letterman at Massachusetts and played for the Minutemen’s 2006 team that finished as the NCAA I-AA national runner-up. A native of Wendell, Mass., he graduated from Massachusetts in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
