Winston October joins the Eskimos in 2020 for his first season as the club’s receivers coach. The former CFLer comes to Edmonton fresh off a stint for Ottawa (CFL) as well as coaching the receivers at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, which followed five years as receivers coach at the Virginia Military Institute.
Though this season marks his first as Edmonton’s coach, October’s experience with the Canadian game goes back to 1999 when signed on with the Montreal Alouettes. He would win a Grey Cup with the Edmonton Eskimos where he played under current REDBLACKS Head Coach Rick Campbell.
During his collegiate career, October starred for the University of Richmond Spiders where he was a four-time All-Atlantic 10 defensive back.
The Guyana-born October now lives in Edmonton with his wife and two daughters.
