Chuck Shroyer

Chuck Shroyer is a former football coach with more than 35 years of experience. Most recently, he worked as offensive coordinator and backfield coach at Tippecanoe Valley High School in Akron-Mentone, Indiana. During Shroyer’s two-year tenure (2000-2002), TVHS won 15 games and lost six, a significant boost over a near-.500 average for the previous five years. Shroyer began coaching youth football in 1967. From 1974 through 1977, he also served as spotter/strategy analyst for Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. In 1995, he finished his youth coaching career with a record of 175 wins, 49 losses, and four ties. During his last 16 years of youth coaching, Shroyer conducted season-long experiments with different offensive series and plays. In 1995, Shroyer joined Southwood High School in Wabash, Indiana, as assistant offensive coordinator and backfield coach. In the five seasons he was there, Southwood won 43 games and lost 11. During those five years, their offense averaged 31.3 points per game, which far exceeded any previous period in the school’s history. Shroyer has an economics degree from DePauw University, an MBA from Ball State University, and two engineering degrees earned through 3M/1CS work study. He worked at 3M for more than 37 years, serving as a plant manager (at two different locations) for 23 of those years.
