Shap Boyd

Shap Boyd is the defensive coordinator at Washington University–St. Louis, a position he assumed in 2004. Previously, he spent five seasons as the associate head coach/defensive coordinator/secondary coach at Jacksonville University for five years (1999-2003). Before joining the Dolphins’ staff, Boyd spent two seasons coaching on the interscholastic level. A 1985 graduate of the University of the South where he had a four-year playing career at free safety, Boyd began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Middle Tennessee State University. Subsequently, he has also served on the gridiron staffs at Kentucky, Lock Haven, and Lycoming.
