Trace Deneke

Trace Deneke is the head football coach at El Camino (CA) High School, a position he assumed in 2003. Before taking over the Wildcats’ program, he previously served as an assistant to legendary coach Herb Meyer at El Camino for eight seasons. During that period, he helped establish the Wildcats as one of the top gridiron programs in California. A retired infantry Marine Corps officer, Deneke spent 10 years on active duty and 11 more as a reservist. A 1977 graduate of Weber State, where he competed as a tight end, Deneke began his coaching career as an assistant at Ben Lomond (UT) High School. A well-received clinician and a much-published author, Deneke has twice served as president of the Southern California Interscholastic Football Coaches Association.
