Tony Oglesby

Tony Oglesby is the defensive line coach at the University of West Alabama, a position he assumed in 1997. Prior to joining the Tigers’ staff, he coached linebackers and defensive ends at West Georgia—helping lead the Braves to two NCAA Division II Playoff appearances. A 1986 graduate of UWA, where he earned four letters as a linebacker, Oglesby remained at UWA to serve as a student assistant coach for the Tigers from 1987-’88. He then spent an additional season (1989) with his alma mater as a graduate assistant in charge of outside linebackers, before joining the West Georgia staff. The teams with which he has worked are known for playing smart, aggressive defense. As a prep athlete, Oglesby had an exceptional career, earning both All-State and All-American honors as a linebacker.
