Gus Malzahn
Gus Malzahn was named the Auburn University head football coach in 2012 after serving as the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterback coach from 2009-11. Malzahn was the 2010 recipient of the Broyles Award, given annually to the top assistant coach in college football.   Previously, he was the offensive coordinator at the University of Tulsa, and the offensive coordinator and wide  receivers coach at the University of Arkansas. Malzahn joined the Razorbacks’  staff following an impressive five-year run as the head football coach at  Springdale High School, in Springdale, Arkansas, capped by one of the most  dominant seasons by any school in 2005. Malzahn began his coaching career in  1991 at Hughes High School in Hughes, Arkansas, as the defensive coordinator. The  following season, he was named to the head coaching position with the Blue  Devils, which he held until 1995. In 1996, he took the head coaching job at  Shiloh Christian High  School in Springdale, Arkansas. At Shiloh, his teams compiled a 63-7-1 record. In 1997, he  implemented the “hurry-up, no-huddle” philosophy into his offense. For the next  four years, their offense was one of the nation’s top yardage producers,  averaging almost 7,000 yards per season.
