Alby Zander

Alby Zander is an assistant football coach and health instructor at Glenbard West (IL) High School, a position he has held since 1997. A 1993 graduate of North Park (IL) University, where he lettered twice as a tight end (after transferring from Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned two letters as an offensive lineman and tight end), Zander is a strong advocate and practitioner of the coaching philosophy commonly referred to as “playing free”—free from circumstances, reckless abandon, environment of encouragement and enthusiasm, and excellence in everything. Zander has also served on the gridiron coaching staffs at Glenbard North (IL) High School and Collins (IL) High School. Currently, he lives with his wife, Lorri, and their children, Zach, Matti, and Leeya, in Wheaton, Illinois.
