Phil Jones

Phil Jones is the head football coach at Shorter College (GA), a program he started from scratch in 2004. In only Shorter’s second year of having a gridiron program, he led the Hawks to a winning season. Jones is a 30-year veteran of high school coaching, 25 of which were as a head coach. His high school teams won 160 games during his tenure at the interscholastic level. He began his college career at the University of Georgia, under renowned coach Jim Donnan from 1997-2000. His collegiate coaching resume also includes stints at AMU (2001-2002) and Gardner-Webb University (2002-2003).
