William "Speedy" Morris

William "Speedy" Morris is the head boys’ basketball coach at St. Joseph’s Prep, a position he assumed in 2001 after spending the previous seventeen years coaching at LaSalle University (15 seasons as the Explorers’ men’s coach, following two years at the reins of the Lady Explorers’ program). Morris began his coaching career at the prep school level. In 14 seasons, he became the winningest coach in Roman Catholic high school history with a 347-82 record (.809). He also coached two years at William Penn Charter School. As LaSalle’s men’s coach, Morris won more games than any other coach in school history. In his illustrious coaching career, Morris has coached teams that have won 30 or more games five times and 20 or more games twenty times. In all four programs that he has coached, he has won fifty tournament and league championships.
