Barry Hinson
Barry Hinson is an administrative assistant for Bill Self at the University of Kansas. Previously, he served as the head men's basketball coach at Southwest Missouri State University, a position he held from 1999-2008. Before SMS, he coached at Oral Roberts for six seasons (1993-1999)—the last two as the Golden Eagles head coach. A 1983 graduate of Oklahoma State University, Hinson began his coaching career on the prep level, where he coached for eight years. He then entered the college coaching ranks in 1993, where he accepted a position as an assistant to ORU head coach, Bill Self. Hinson is widely regarded for his knowledge of basketball fundamentals and his exceptional teaching ability.
