Ryan Nourse

Ryan Nourse is the defensive coordinator at Truman State University, a position he assumed in 2008. Prior to joining the Bulldog’s coaching staff, Nourse was on the Morningside Collage (Iowa) staff for seven seasons, including serving as the Mustang’s defensive coordinator since 2003. In 2007, Nourse was named the American Football Coaches Association NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year. During his tenure at Morningside, the Mustangs made four straight trips to the NAIA playoffs. In 2007, the Mustangs intercepted a school record 31 passes, held the opposition to just 2.3 yards rushing per attempt, and held five opponents to single-digits in scoring. Since 2004, Nourse has coached five All- Americans, with three of those players earning first-team status. Before Morningside, Nourse was a defensive coach at Western State College. His professional resume includes coaching three state playoff teams as a high school coach in Idaho. He is a graduate of the University of Western Montana, where he was a two-year starter on a pair of conference championship teams.
