Roger VanDeZande

Roger VanDeZande 2001 AFCA Assistant Coach of the Year (NAIA), is the former defensive coordinator at Southern Oregon University (1998-2001), where in 2001, theRaiders had the #1 defense in the Pacific Northwest at any level of college football. During his tenure, the Raiders routinely led the region, and ranked among national leaders in total defense, scoring defense, interceptions, quarterback sacks, and tackles for loss. VanDeZande then served as the defensive coordinator at North Central College (2002-2003), where the Cardinals led the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in quarterback sacks and tackles for loss, while ranking #2 in red zone and scoring defense. Currently, he is the head football coach at Sothern Boone (MO) High School. In this role, he took over a team on a 19-game losing streak and in two seasons led his squad to a District Championship, earning the program’s first-ever State Playoff berth in the process. In his career, VanDeZande has coached over 200 high school and college All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honorees.
