Chad Worrell

The Burleson Independent School District (BISD) appointted Chad Worrell as Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator at Burleson High School. With 27 years of coaching experience, Worrell brings a wealth of expertise and success to his new role. As a head coach, Worrell led teams to a state championship, a state finals appearance, and two state semi-final appearances and contributed to five Lone Star Cup Champion awards. As an assistant coach, Worrell coached teams that secured four consecutive state championship appearances and won two state titles. Worrell established the Brock football program as head coach in 2011 and quickly led his team to earn the 2015 3A State Championship title, leading the nation and state in scoring offense. Throughout Worrell’s head coaching career, he has won nine district championships and holds an overall career record of 157-48 and an overall playoff record of 33-10. Named as a 2022 Coach of the Adidas All-American Bowl and the 2015 Max Preps National Small School Coach of the Year, Worrell is a 10-time Coach of the Year honoree from organizations such as Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, Texas Sports Writers, Rivals, Padilla Poll, and more. Worrell played football at Southeastern Oklahoma State University while earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
