Vince Kinney

Vince Kinney is the Coach of George Fox University’s 400/800/400 hurdles athletes. Coach Kinney was a student athlete at Portland State University. He competed with the track and field team as a decathlete. As a track athlete, he became a Junior All-American in the decathlon and Big Sky all-conference as a Junior and senior. While competing at Portland State University, he started his coaching career at Lincoln High School and East/West Sylvan Middle School, both in Oregon, where he coached throws. He coached at various high schools and individuals for six years throughout that time in many different events. In 2016, he became the head coach at Lake Oswego High School where he had coached hurdles, sprints and jumps. He has coached one state champion in the 110 hurdles and many state placers in multiple hurdle events throughout his time at Lake Oswego High School. He has also coached many state champions in the sprints and jumps events as well as multiple national champions in sprints events during his time at Lake Oswego. In 2022 his girls team won Lake Oswego High Schools first state championship. He was honored as the Oregon School Activities Association 6a Girls Coach of the Year in 2022.
