Mike Srock

Mike Srock is the Speed and Strength Coach for the District Five Schools of Spartanburg County (SC). He has worked with James F. Byrnes High School for the past 12 years, and the Rebels have won the South Carolina 4A football state championship seven times in the last nine years, with the most recent championship being the 2010 title. The Rebels’ record since 2002 is 122- 10. The Rebels also hold the distinction of earning the 2008 National SPARQ Training Challenge Championship.

A graduate of St. Thomas University in Florida, Srock is a Certified Specialist for Speed and Explosion (CSSE) with the National Association of Speed and Explosion (NASE), for which he serves on the national board of directors and the certification board. He is a senior level sports performance coach with USA Weightlifting and a bronze level coach with USA Wrestling. Srock is also a certified kettlebell instructor with KettleBell Concepts and a certified SPARQ trainer.

Srock has been the region director for the South Carolina High School Strength Coaches Association since 1999. He has also been the president of the South Carolina High School Strength Coaches Association since 2008. Srock has won numerous Coach of the Year titles including Strength Coach of the Year for the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association (2007 and 2001), USA Weightlifting East Coach Gold Coach of the Year (2001), and USA Weightlifting East Coach Gold Satellite Center Coach of the Year (2000). He was named the 2008 Max Emfinger All-American Bowl strength and defensive line coach.
