Author, Denny Marcin has enjoyed great success during his 33 years of coaching football defenses. Marcin served on the gridiron staff of the University of North Carolina—first as the defensive coordinator (1978-1986) and then as the assistant head coach (1987-1988). During his tenure, UNC placed 24 defensive players in the NFL, including all-time NFL great Lawrence Taylor. As assistant head football coach and defensive coordinator (1988-1996) at the University of Illinois, Marcin helped lead Illinois to six post-season bowl appearances and one Big 10 Championship. In the process, Marcin coached the Big 10s top defense in 1994 and second best defense in 1995.
