John McBride

John McBride, CSCS, is currently the director of athletic performance for the Next Level Sport Performance Training Foundation, a Stockton, California-based company he co-founded in 2000. Before assuming his present position, he served in the same position for twelve years at the University of Pacific. Prior to working at UOP, he was the strength and conditioning coordinator at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, AZ. He has also served as an assistant strength coach at both Arizona State University and the University of Tennessee. An NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist since 1985, McBride is a USA weightlifting senior level coach. With over seventeen years Division 1 speed, strength, and conditioning experience, he has trained and worked with a number of world-class athletes, including Michael Olowokandi, Brad Schumacher, Susy Powell, and Katy Eldridge. In 1995, the NSCA named him Big West Conference Strength and Conditioning Association Professional of the Year. In addition, he has twice been a finalist for the NSCA National Professional of the Year (1991, 1995).
